Salesforce Will Start Using Azure

Salesforce announced Wednesday (11/13/2019) that it will be taking it’s “Marketing Cloud”, which previously ran in the tech giant’s own datacenters, to Microsoft Azure. This is especially surprising given the existing relationship Salesforce has with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a fierce competitor of Microsoft and their Azure cloud platform. Right now there is no timeline for migration but TechCrunch reports that it will happen in the, “coming months”. Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella commented on the announcement stating,

“By bringing together the power of Azure and Microsoft Teams with Salesforce, our aim is to help businesses harness the power of the Microsoft Cloud to better serve customers.”
