IBM has finally wrapped up it’s year-long-acquisition of Red Hat, a leading provider of Linux-based open-sourced software. IBM announced that Red Hat will CEO Jim Whitehurst will continue running the company but will also be joining IBM’s senior management team, reporting directly to IBM CEO Ginni Rometty.
In a recent press release Jim commented the following,
“Joining forces with IBM gives Red Hat the opportunity to bring more open source innovation to an even broader range of organizations and will enable us to scale to meet the need for hybrid cloud solutions that deliver true choice and agility. “
