Google is planning on offering checking accounts within it’s Google Pay app in partnership with Citigroup and a Stanford University credit union. Dubbed, “Project Cache”, Google plans on rolling out their new checking account offerings in 2020. While there is not much information available, Google Executive Caesar Sengupta noted that there may be loyalty card programs included with Google’s Checking accounts. Hopefully consumers don’t lose their faith in Google’s business practices amid talks of possible mishandling of 50 million medical health records as part of Project Nightingale.
